I'm not an 8 year old girl but I have loved all of the Barbie games for PS and PS2. Sure, the previous Barbie games were no challenge for me but they were entertaining nonetheless and I loved interacting with Barbie's personality and I loved roaming around Barbie's world. So, to review this game in comparison to my experience with previous games, I was disappointed. On the positive side, the artwork, and the voice acting were perfectly Barbie. The concept of the game (to find the elixir in various places) was good. Negatively, the animation was cheap-looking and terrible. Barbie looked distorted and weird. A couple of the princess sisters looked more like Barbie. My biggest disappointment though was that the gameplay was much more simplified than previous games and it was boringly repetitive. So, if the developers meant to make this game just for 8 year old girls and you are an 8 year old girl, then buy it.
