If you are into stats this works.
In playing the game, yes, you can control the budget (pricing, expenditures, etc), you can play individual games without simming them but not to the extent you can with MVP Baseball. MVP was more detailed. In MVP you can add concessions, seating, etc to your stadium. You can control players at bat, and in the field. In baseball Mogul the finances and gameplay are more basic. The thing that bugs me is that every team has the same color uniforms! The least they could have done was include each teams colors.
Another reviewer said that after awhile the most fun is the off season. I also found that to be true. This game takes negotiations a little further than MVP Baseball. Not only can you negotiate a salary but offer team and player options also. When trading you can ofer the other team a player and cash. MVP didn't have a cash option. You can put a player on the trading block and look for specific type players in return by position, veteran, prospects, or just cash.
Overall this game kept me occupied but I still keep looking for updates to MVP Baseball 2005.
