FINALLY!! They got Batman right.

It took years and years, but only after the best Batman movie (The Dark Knight) did Batman: Arkham Asylum invade video games, and it is AWESOME!! Graphics, especially character models and textures are exquisite. The sounds you would expect to hear in an old creepy asylum are dead on. Music is perfect. And by Joe the combat is insanely awesome. I don't think I've seen a free form combat system put together so well in my life. It is rediculously satisfying to take out 20 bad dudes in one flowing combo using the Batarang to take out one guy, then a THREE pronged grappling hook to snatch three guys at one time down to the ground, break a leg or arm, toss one dude at someone else, smash a face, counter a punch with a kick to the head, and finally deliver a shockingly powerful elbow to the head...all in about 5 seconds. It's what Batman's fighting style is all about: Shock And Awe. Yes, there are a couple of missed opportunities like not actually fighting some of the enemies you encounter, but the game usually makes up for it later on. Not to mention solving an insane amount of riddles for guess who. All in all, this is definitely the first game since Grand Theft Auto IV to hold my attention for days at a time. A must have for any Batman fan.
