Story- 9.6/10 , The story is really great, with Joker, Harley quinn, Mr zsazz (I think that's how it's spelled), Killer croc, Poison ivy, The scarecrow and the Riddler all making an spectacular appearance. The general story is this, Joker makes a random attack on the mayor, which leads to batman capturing him and taking him to Arkham asylum, but what Batman doesn't know is that it's all a trap and Joker escapes custody with the help from his psycho girlfriend Harley Quinn, a rouge prison officer and a mysterious fire at Blackgate Penitentiary which leads to a whole lot of Joker's goons moved over to Arkham. And your mission is to capture Joker and bring the asylum back under control, I think I'll leave the rest of the story out, to avoid spoilers
Graphics- 9.3/10, The graphics are great, the detail is amazing. The island itself looks amazing, with wide landscapes and deep caves which are all done with the fantastic lighting and great attention to detail.Also I noticed that throughout the game progressing the landscape changes, With trees crumbling and graffiti written on the walls. But on the downside, there are a few issues with the lip syncing and characters eyes, although this shouldn't be a problem.
Sound- 9/10, The sound of the Joker cackling over the asylum's intercom is a treat.Sound in general is spot on, with the sound of Batman smashing another thugs face conducted with bone cracking precision. The sound really adds tension and drama to some parts of the game, which is great.
Gameplay-9.2/10, The gameplay is supurb, With both the hand to hand combat and stealth combat masterfully done. The Hand to hand combat features 4 main buttons, Square to punch, Triangle to counter, X to Jump over your foes and Circle to stun them with your cape, even though there is only 1 attack button, if you button mash your attacks you may miss crucial counter openings. Also the stealth gameplay is deadly, you can grapple up to gargoyles and hang from them, wait for an armed thug to to walk under your gargoyle and perform an inverted takedown that leaves them hanging by their feet upside-down under the gargoyle. You can take out a whole room of people without even beeing spotted, Deadly.
Longevity- 8.5/10, The length to complete the story element of the game is around 9 hours, which is long but not long enough in my opinion. After you completed the game you could always go back and find and complete all of the Riddler's challenges, which gives an extra 3 hours to the game. Challenge mode is a great addition to the game which gives the game an extra boost of longevity, you could be spending hours playing these and trying to beat the high scores. On that note PS3 has an exclusive 7 extra challenge maps which features the joker, which is a fantastic addition, Because Joker is funny as hell .
Overall- 9.4/10, This game is a must buy, as it is the only great comic book game . It features a deep story, fantastic graphics, great gameplay and has that wow factor. Thanks for reading my review.
