The Best Batman Game Ever!
This game introduces a new story element that Batman fans may remember from the comics. Arkham Asylum. Gotham's mad house for the criminally insane. Of course when something like this appears you just know you'll get to really explore it.
The game begins with Batman capturing Joker and bringing him to Arkham Asylum. The Joker then precedes to escape and locks them all inside the asylum. As Batman you must hunt him down through out all odds and save everyone who he has captured. To make matters worse the joker has planted bombs all around Gotham threatening to detonate them all if anyone comes close to Arkham Island. So it looks like your on your own.
The new combat system is very easy to use and most of the time will be your only line of defense. I found myself dropping into a room filled with over 20 henchmen and having only my fists to take them out. You can chain the moves together and get bonuses.
Well I guess I lied when I said you just have your fists. Batman is eqipped with many gadgets that he can use in several situations( some are only unlocked later in the game). The Baterang, Batclaw and much more can be used to take out your ememies using a more tactical approach.
The graphics are great with some awesome environments. One complaint I had was that many rooms in the Asylum has similar tiles unless the room was for a specific event in the game.
One thing thst you'll find is although the story might be challenging, the hardest thing of all is finding all the riddles and clues the RIddler has layed out for you. I have yet to find them all, so good luck to you.
But to wrap up this review I'd say Batman Arkham Asylum is one of the games I'll keep in my collection till my PS3 dies.
