I picked up this game simply because of the hype (and a nifty Power Trade offer at Gamestop) and I have to say this is one of the best titles of the year. It has pretty much everything an action game fan could want, ranging from stealth to straight beat-em-up action. Swinging from the shadows and taking out a multitude of armed guards single handedly is a not only necessary but incredibly fun. There's just nothing like taking the legs out from under a thug with a Batarang from 100 yards and then listening to him as he cry's for his mommy in fear of the Dark Knight. The combat system is intuitive, simple to pick up, and it looks AMAZING. It easily gives you the ability to take on a horde of baddies and make them all look like fools. The only reason i gave this game 9 instead of something higher is replay value. There are quite a few secrets in the story mode to discover that unlock maps in the challenge mode but it still seems a bit short winded. Other that this game is perfect. For all you gamefly users out there, put this one on the top of your Q. Play it until you get your fill and send it back. Like I say, I bought it because it was paid for with store credit from trade-in's at Gamestop. I would have been a tad disappointed if I had paid $60 in cash for this game. All that aside Batman: Arkham Asylum is a must play for anyone and a must buy for Batman fans.
