Reasons why I only rented it.

To start off, let me just say that this is probably the best Batman game I have ever played. The story line was great, combat was addictive and the graphics were top quality. You can tell the developers took their time on this one, and I do believe it payed off. Lets start with the story line, where it allows Batman to fight off many classic villains such as Crock and Ivy in such a way that feels like a go with the flow feel(Great!). The combat was surprisingly great to use, considering hero games such as Batman are usually button smashing chaos. Basically, fighting is the same style as Assasin's Creed, without the swords and blood. You are able to sneak, attack, counter-attack and use gadgets. Batman's gadgets are loads of fun to use, and are also upgradeable(Sweet!). Another great feature in this game is of course the "Investigation" mode which is miracle and a curse at the same time. This mode allows you to see enemies nearby, to see things your gadgets can interact with and so on. But as you progress through the game you will soon realize that you use it all the time. This hides the great textures and scenery of the game. The only problem is that there is not much replay value to this game, and yes, many would disagree, but hear me out. The boss battles are quite fun but there is only one way to defeat them, and once you learn how, well, it's just not that exciting anymore. Another aspect the developers should have looked at was online playability.
Batman's storyline campaign is great, though its not like its an RPG with unlimited ways of doing things but on the contrary, you can not possibly beat this game doing anything different then the first time you beat it! It seems that replayability was not even discussed when making this game. And that is a shame.
