Best comic book game. Ever.

User Rating: 9.5 | Batman: Arkham Asylum PS3
The intro sequence sets the tone for this incredible adventure. You immediately know you're in for something special.

Once I heard Mark Hamill's maniacal laugh, I was immediately immersed. The game feels so polished with a level of detail that truly is astounding. The team obviously did their homework, combining the best elements of 'Batman the Animated Series', the films and the comics into one truly incredible presentation that really sets the bar for every other developer entering the comic/gaming world.

The Pros:
-Beautiful environments, character models and voice work (especially Mark Hamill as Joker). I really can't emphasize enough how amazing the voice work is across the entire cast.
-Awesome collection of gadgets and moves
-The story mode is engrossing. It's tough to pull yourself away from this game.
-Plenty of easter eggs and unlockables.
-Controlling Batman is actually fun. Unlike previous iterations of Batman games, Rocksteady really nailed what it should feel like to fight, plan strategies and do detective work as Batman.
-Great array of characters that are taken seriously. Arkham Asylum creates the perfect stage for encounters with many, many villains. There is humor as well, but it doesn't feel overdone or campy like 'Batman & Robin'.
-Dark and creepy tone throughout the game provides a mature feel similar to 'The Dark Knight'.
-Combat system is phenomenal. Easy to learn/Hard to master. Any one can pick this game up and have fun. But it takes some dedication to really string combos together and become truly skilled.
-Boss fights are memorable. Especially the encounters with Scarecrow. Rocksteady really emphasizes the epicness of the major Boss encounters.

The Cons:
-Because of the amount of detective work, you will spend most of the game in the 'X-Ray' detective mode.
-I don't want to wait any more for the sequel.

This really is the most epic, memorable comic book game ever put together. Rocksteady really put a lot of love into this game and if you're a fan of Batman, action/adventure or just enjoy a truly well-crafted game, this is a must play.
