Arkham City fills itself with extras and Riddler secrets that seem to take over from its story and character depth.

User Rating: 8 | Batman: Arkham City X360
Batman Arkham City doesn't bring to the table the depth that Arkham Asylum had and instead swaps it for a much more heart pumping storyline (that's not quite as good as Asylums) where time is of the essence (although the countdown to Hugo Strange's "Protocol 10" seems to jump from 10 hours to 5 hours in about 30 minutes of playing time but hey, that's just another thing). Action is on the cards though and there's no time to mess about but this excuse for the lack of longer lasting boss battles and exploration is poor considering Asylum's depth and appeal and clearly too much time has been spent on small gimmicky extras and secrets rather than storyline and character. For those of you wanting a feeling of progress and exploration with slightly less complicated and fiddly controls then revisit Asylum. For those of you wanting something that's more about quick thrills and is generally a piece of cake to get through, go with Arkham City. Overall though, this hasn't lived up to the hype for me and whilst I did still enjoy it, it's simply not a patch on its predecessor everyone claims.
