Epic story, amazing gameplay, and a unique atmosphere, is what makes a masterpiece! But does this have what it takes?

User Rating: 10 | Batman: Arkham City PS3
I have been waiting for Arkham City since I destroyed Joker's face. This is one game that I would trade in anything I got for. And I'm glad to say that I traded in my left foot. It was so worth it. On a serious note, lets do a little run down of my review. Story immersive and exciting. Gameplay, better then ever. Graphics, a unique atmosphere really sets the mood. Soundtrack, the best I've heard all year. I've loved Batman ever since I left my mother's womb, when I heard they were going to make a serious game of Batman, I was happier then a kid in a candy shop, (a cliche I like to use). But I was still skeptical. When I first stuck it in my system and I saw Batman drive Joker to the Asylum, I knew instantly that I will forever love that game. But when I heard they were going to make a sequel, in Gotham City, I was stoked. Now here we are millions of people have played and beaten it, and mixed reactions came out of people. Some people loved it, and some people hated it. I'm part of the first group. Lets go on to the story. Mayor Sharp has declared that they are going to make a prison out of Gotham, he put Hugo Strange in charged, and now YOU are Batman and have to kick some A$$ in Arkham City, Joined by multiple enemies. The story had twists and turns and really kept things alive, there were sooo many enemies, I'd thought I was going to be overwhelmed, but Rocksteady knitted together this game like it was a sweater. Everything went perfect, so many shock and awes. Wishing that Catwoman was more involved with Batman's story. The gameplay is back from Asylums groundbreaking gameplay, and I have to say I feel honored playing this amazing and perfect battlesystem. There are many variations of gadgets and things that you can use in your battlesystem, that really comes in handy. The controlling was just plain perfect, there were no hiccups at all. All of the gadgets you get are unique in their own way. Mr. Freeze, I have to say, was my favorite villain/ally in the game. But I do have to say the bosses are too easy. The Riddler is back and has 400 riddles for you to do. There are challenge modes and they are all entertaining. Each riddle is a puzzle. I do have to say that some of the sidequests were really disappointing, especially Deadshots. And Batman is a little too stiff for my taste. You can now play as Catwoman. She has 40 riddles to collect and they are pretty fun. She has her own story in Arkham City and it is fun. It's pretty much her and Two-Face that fight it out through her story. But getting around the City with her is extremely fun. She has her own gadgets and fighting system as well. It is a blast to play as her. Continuing on to the graphics. When I got into the Batman suit, I was giddy, and he looked amazing. The whole place is huge and beautiful. I love soaring through the air (with an improved flying system) and seeing his cape. Every little nook and cranny is gorgeous. And I have to say, Catwoman is H. O. T. Hot! Now on to the soundtrack. The music is really awesome. It is very artistic and again, just perfect. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamil are back and play their roles. Mr. Conroy does a great job as Batman. And same goes with Hamil. Nolan North makes a entrance as The Penguin. And most of the thugs. I enjoyed this game, no I loved this game, even more then Asylum. There is much replay value, challenge modes, campaigns, and a new gamesplus. And a huge achievement/trophy game. I loved every bit of it.
