For those who thought Batman Arkham Asylum was awesome... here is the best Christmas gift for 2011! Amazing sequel!
Rocksteady had an impossible feat... and they pulled it through.
This game is nothing short of amazing!
Once again you will find yourself solving riddles, facing many enemies and pulling as many combos as possible... except this time, even in an even better environment.
Batman Arkham City is huge... you get free roam in an awesome city! The game's design, environment, music and sceneries will immerse you into batman's suit and keep you coming back for more.
But why is it so great?
Well... for starters, the game has everything which made Arkham Asylum great... plus:
- Free roam (or better put with one word: "Freedom!")
- An interesting and compelling plot. Many more characters come into play... and all of them have their own agendas.
- Amazing graphics (awesome underground "noir" look). This is the game you want to use to make your video card play all it's bells and whistles at the same time. The environment has a great balance of design detail and gaming practicality.
- More fighting complexity: You now have more buttons, alternatives and options to combine combos with. Each time you start a fight you can seek to build a combo masterpiece. More alternatives means a fight is never the same. Further, multiple enemies can attack you simultaneously, making the fighting a bit more "realistic" and complex.
- Catwoman: The game now has 2 separate story lines... and you get to play this fine character, with her own abilities and tricks.
- Detective mode: Now has more detective challenges and you can forget about using it constantly to cheat during fights.
- Riddles: You thought the previous installment was challenging?... get ready for a real treat.
- LOOOOOONNNNNG GAME! (exactly what everyone wants).
- Gadgets, combat and skill upgrades.
- Tougher enemies: Up against 15 or 20 unarmed henchmen, you can have a "here I am, bring it on!" tactic. But once they get their hands on heavy weapons, get ready to play "hide and seek"... stealth, strategy and timing come into play.
In other words... you HAVE to get your hands on this game.
It's a must have for any gaming enthusiast. Trust me, if you loved Arkham Asylum... this game will not disappoint you.
In my humble opinion, this is a serious contender for best game of the year.
Message to Rocksteady: If there were Oscars to game design and development, you guys should be getting ready to collect your second trophy. Keep up the good work!
