Adjust your expectations properly and you will enjoy Batman Begins.
In Batman Begins you play as both Bruce Wayne and Batman from snowy mountains to dark alleys of Gotham City. Game follows the story of the movie pretty closely also containing spoilers.
Graphics are very humble and not detailed at all, but since Batman usually works at night it doesn’t really bother that much because it’s so dark anyway. Sound effects do their job, but are nothing special. Voice acting on the other hand is the best part of the package featuring original actors from the movie.
Gameplay is very linear and because of that you’ll notice some unrealistic things like: you can smash these boxes, but not those; you can break this window, but not that one. If you’ve ever played games like Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell, then you pretty much know what to expect: you make your way through some acrobatic puzzles and try to sneak past enemies in order to gain some advantage over them. There are also few driving missions as well, but they are not nearly as fun as those sequences were in the movie. Still they offer a nice change of pace.
New addition here is that Batman is supposed to use fear in order to defeat the opposition more easily. It’s an interesting idea, but it always works the same way from beginning to end: you find something that breaks, hit it either with your fist or bat-a-rang and this causes nearby enemies to get scared. After that their much easier to defeat.
The whole experience is dragged down by the fact that the game is very repetitive with very little or no replay value. Every mission has that same structure from beginning to end. Batman himself uses the same moves and combos all the way through. When you first beat the game you’ll be able to use different outfits for Batman and look at some movie clips, but these are just cosmetic stuff instead of a solid addition to the gameplay experience.
I still enjoyed Batman Begins and played it through twice in a row so if you can adjust your expectations properly you will enjoy your time being as Batman.
