A sloppy but fun effort; breaks the trend of pathetic Batman games, visually stunning.

EA Games are notoriously known for their tradition of movie-to-game conversions, and have had enjoyed huge commercial success by creating passable games that fail to live up to the movies they represent. Case in Point: Lord of the Rings. EA Games created a nice hack and slash that should have been a fully fledged RPG. That decision was a complete no-brainer. It is however harder to fit Batman Begins into that sort of box. There have been many games created about the caped crusader, and while few of them have been even good, EA put out an assertive stance that they could defy this mould, with their upcoming effort based on Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins. Was it any good?

Begins (As it shall hereby be referred to) is a stealth game based on fear and reputation, and it is first and foremost an action blockbuster in the movie's vein. Players play as Bruce Wayne/Batman, as he fights off the evil Ducard from invading Gotham City. All actors from the film supply the voices for the game, so this delivers a sense of authenticity about EA's valient effort. In the end though, the gameplay is incredibly linear and unexciting, and the gameplay is way too easy. There are some nice little bonus extras to be unlocked once the game is completed, and the Batmobile missions are taken straight from Burnout (That is a good thing, by the way), but don't expect the game to last you longer than 4-5 hours.
Which is disappointing, really.

The graphics are stunning. EA has poured a lot of detail into the character models and cutscenes, as well as the environment details. The Audio, along with aformentioned voices is great, with chilling sound straight from the film. The game does fall flat, but at least the world's richest third-party game developer has done something slightly right.
A fun but sloppy effort.
