You would expect a game based on such an iconic character to have some depth, but unfortunately that is not the case.
With all this hype gamers can expect a pretty special game based on the movie, unfortunately that is not the case as the game is a simple brawler/stealth action adventure that mostly does a lot of things right but really doesn't live up to the standard of the movie.
Like the movie the game follows the same story, the beginning of the Dark Knight's legend (as the tittle suggests). The game is divided into chapters, the first half of which is actually a flashback of a little setback Batman just had.
Though the game doesn't offer much variety in terms of gameplay, it's quite fun to scare the living s*** out of thugs and crooks and later take them down in some fun combat mechanics that is far by the finest in any batman game (or almost any comic book game for that matter). Stealth is also sometimes a crucial element needed for some chosen parts of the game, although it is very simple.
Though comic book based games or better movie based games are pretty lame most of the time they are starting to get better over the time; a prime example would be VU games' brilliant "Chronicles of Riddick". Batman Begins though not a very good action game is actually pretty good compared to the Dark Knight's previous offerings, thus there is still hope for us Bat-fans to expect a much more fleshed-out game in the future.
