"This Game Looks Familiar Too..."

User Rating: 4 | Batman Forever SNES

When I was a kid, I used to love this game, (honestly) I never got how to do anything or what the gadgets are or what they do but I enjoyed the game.

Now fast forward 15 years looking back at it,,,only thing I can say is why? Why was this game ever made? It appealed to me because it has Batman in it and I probably thought it would be great..its Batman,,how bad could it be?

First off, the controls are horrible..simply horrible. The SNES controller has 6 main buttons..SIX but if you want to grapple you have to press select? Out of all the buttons it has available why would you make select the button to use. Whenever I play a game select is used for menu features like equipping skills, maps, reading Intel or other things but NOT to grapple. Another thing that grips me is the jump button..in this game the jump "button" is the up button on the D-Pad..isn't that confusing? You have A, B, X, and Y that you could have utilized for the jump button but nooo they decided to use the up button instead. Poor controller button usage.

All these buttons to use, what a shame

After playing the game for a bit, I noticed this game looks really similar to another Akklaim game...anyone know? It's Mortal Kombat. If you don't believe me play this game and then Mortal Kombat or vice versa and you will see the similarities. The fighting style is the biggest giveaway. Batman Forever uses the same kick, punches, lower and upper kick and punches which makes sense because they just copy and pasted the moves..to me that is laziness.

Batman Forever=Mortal Kombat 2.0

The enemies are stalk characters that regenerate, there is no variety in them at all. And they take forever to kill. I can spend about a minute or two just to get rid of one or two guys, and that's because you have to wait for them to get back up from falling down each time.

Lastly this also bugs me and everybody I talk to agrees is that the interior blocks my vision of the enemies. It's like they deliberty did that just to make people mad. It would be like if Need for Speed or any GTA games would randomly put something in your line of vision like a building when you are driving so you would mess up or die.

My advice to anyone is STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME. It is not worth owning or renting like Superman 64 but that is a different story. The controls should have been way better and the gameplay should have been better as also.
