Batman impossible!
The visuals and sound in this game were pretty good considering the 16-bit era had just gotten started with the Sega Genesis and SNES leading the way. On par with home consol systems, this game had detailed environments and a wide range of enemies taken directly from the movie. The control were standard batman punch, jump kick, batarang, throw acid vails? (didnt know that was on his belt until this game).
Now the game stops being fun after you play about 10 minutes through the first level and realize how un-godly difficult it is. The game starts you out with one life and batman can take about a dozen hits before his hit points expire. Health power ups are very rare and do not really make much difference since the high volume of enemies and tenacity of their attacks will quickly drain batman of much of his health by the time you face off with Penguin at the end of the first level. You will also find offense items that will refill your stock of batarangs and acid. If you do play the game enough to get through the first level, the boss battle will most likely kill you quickly and you will be forced to play through the level over and over until you figure out his pattern. The game only gets harder, and although in only contains a had full of levels you will be lucky to ever make it past Cat woman on level two since the lack of any continue will force you to start the game over from the beginning every time you die. You have no idea how frustrating this game will make you until you give it a try. The only positive note is that I found a cheat code that let me warp to any level so I was able to play through it to the end, but the final Penguin boss battle was impossible to beat.
