In a surprisingly rare miss, Season 2 of the Batman Telltale series takes a bit of a dive in quality overall and just fails to deliver that quality experience I expect from the series. The first noticeable thing for me was the drawn-out menial tasks you have to do (scanning Riddler's eyes, Re-exploring his hideout). That was a dead give away that this would be a very quick episode with very little substance. It's pretty much a sign for any telltale game that if it starts off like that, It's never a good thing.
And I was right. The menial tasks brought the plot to a grinding halt. You, as Bruce, explore your friendship with John (Joker) a bit more and I really enjoy the conversations the two have. It's very insightful to the dynamic of their relationship and it's a sign of the twisted things to the come. John is clearly playing another game that Bruce simply hasn't caught onto yet and due to Bruce's action in this episode, I feel that it's gonna act as the push John needs to finally start his journey as the Joker.
Sadly, Aside from this one key point of the episode, Nothing really happens plot-wise until the tough moral decision at the very end. And that is pretty disappointing to me. I honestly have not played a single bad episode of this series up until this point. There just wasn't enough here to make an interesting or complex episode.
Overall: 6/10
I wish there was a bit more depth to this episode, A bit more exploration with Selina and Bruce. I feel like that aspect was glanced over and not given justice. Aside from that, It wasn't terrible but it wasn't really good either. I do think it was just a one-off kind of thing and I am sure the series will return to form in the next episode.
