Good Game with Arcade style action

User Rating: 7.5 | Battle: Los Angeles PS3
I watched the movie and was impressed with the visual effects. I had heard a rumour that there would be a game released so I headed over to PlayStation Network and downloaded the full game for only £7.99. The download was a tiny 1GIG... so it was up and running within an hour on my 4MB connection.

The game play was fun, it had elements of Resistance Fall of Man, and had similarities to COD (although very different). COD is much more competitive and probably more for serious gamers. This game is more suited for the occasional FPS gamer.

I found the game easy to pick up and learn straight away... after a few minutes into the game I was shooting down crazy aliens (which was quite enjoyable). The visual effects were really good, there are some improvements that could be made on the Graphics Engine and A.I to make it reach its full potential, having said that, it's quite impressive what they've achieved within the time-frame it was produced.

Perhaps if the developers provide a software update and improve some of the niggles in the future this could potentially be a real winner.

The Game's Continuity from the Movie is fairly consistent and you are fighting against the same creatures/machinery that the characters encounter within the movie. The voices used are the original cast from the Movie which is another good aspect of the game.

This is a game you can play and begin enjoying pretty much straight away. I think people have been harsh while rating this game. I have played the best FPS/Shooter/Strategy games... COD, Halo, Resistance, Ghost Recon, Socom, Metal Gear, Gears of War, Crysis etc... this game is a lower budget production, but delivered the same level of fun I got from the others even though it is shorter.

Worth the price. Give it a try.
