Battlefield 1 came out last month & got positive reviews by gaming critics. The game was loved by most people for World War 1 theme, very good single player campaign & awesome online multiplayer. Good thing I didn't read reviews & watch any video reviews of the game. I went into playing the game, forming my opinion & move forward. In my opinion, Battlefield hasn't been good since "Bad Company 2" & I wonder if BF1 turns out to be decent. Speaking of that, Is Battlefield 1 the best FPS game of the year or an complete flop? Here's my positives & negatives:
+Online multiplayer, but......
+Maps
+War Pigeons & Operations are my favorite game modes in online multiplayer
+World War 1 theme
+Different style (tank, aircraft, all out war, recon, stealth missions) of play in single player mode
+Good controls
-Inconsistency while playing online multiplayer
-I can take down players while using sniper rifle at an close range. But, trying to pick players off & not getting any hitmarkers at all is frustrating.
-Story/Plot has the "been there, done that" feel to it. Just like WWII video game theme.
I can see why folks in the video game community love "Battlefield 1" for it's different & not an sci-fi/futuristic setting game like some of them. It does have positives & I can't take that away. I really thought I was going to like Battlefield 1. But, it wasn't fun for inconsistent online multiplayer (just like in the open beta), story/plot has the "been there, done that" feel despite of World War I game & it was made for folks who dislike certain video game series. Thank you for reading & keep on gaming.
