In the past I always love a similar game, named Day of Defeat (DoD) on the pc. That game was a Counterstrike mod. Now, with Battlefield 1943 I can enjoy all the excitement similar to DoD again! But with a superior look and destructable envirornment. What a great and utterly addictive game this is! I have 20 or so PS3 games and this one I play most. (together with Oblivion) Makes me somewhat feel sorry that I neglect my other games... :) I somehow prefer to play with the Japanese, I like the voice acting... like "Banzai" and all kinds of other shouts and orders in Japanese. (with DoD I prefered the Germans for similar reasons) Gameplay wise both teams are balanced with similar weaponary, and vehicles. Its an interesting challenge, sometimes frustrating experience, to get the hang of the sixaxis controller. Wow, that's quite hard compared with a mouse! However after practising for a while I am now able to get often in the top 5 at the end of the round. I love the English broadcaster at the end of each round, announcing a major victory / defeat. Makes the whole thing a bit realistic, like you played your part in helping, or even changing the outcome of a historical battle. What I appreciate is that you can pick up the bagpack of a fallen enemy / teammate and use that one (the backpack is actually a weapon)... so you might start off as a sniper, while picking up another weapon later on and become a rifleman for example. Everytime when I play this is almost can't stop... everytime I think; "after this round I have to stop and go to bed"... but one hour later I am still playing... hahaha. Great, great game. Highly addictive.

Sometimes frustrating to aim with the controller compared with a mouse. However every other player will have the same issue... so its all fine and fair though. A few maps only. (but they are all excellent though)
