Simply awesome....
We started on Wake Island. Luckily, I entered the game fast enough to grab one of the planes and took off. After running a couple of laps in training mode (Yes, their is a training mode for the planes), I was confident enough to know I can manage it. I saw that two enemy planes were incoming on the passenger boats, so I decided to engage. I took one of them out and the other just crashed in the ocean (I'm pretty sure he was trying to attempt a Kamikaze on the boat!)
I made a lap around and saw an enemy boat making it's way to shore, so I decided to drop a couple of bombs on it. Direct hit! Spent a little more time in the air before I decided to check out the ground game. Dropped right on top of an enemy base and took it over. After that, every thing became a blur as a war broke out for that one base! Tanks and jeeps jumping over obstacles, planes dog fighting over head, sirens warning of a bombing run! It was a moment I knew it was the best 15 bucks a spent in a long time!
If you are reading this review, you may be wondering why it is just .5 shy of being perfect....well....there are a couple of bugs with vehicles, and also when you land in the water with a plane, you actually go THROUGH the water into a skipping black screen. You can also tell this game was really tailored for HDTV's as the words and letters on a Standered TV look blurry and a bit fuzzy. But like I said, all this is little stuff that can be issued with patches in the future. So if you were considering buying this game, I would say pull the trigger, it is definitely a must have!
