OK so the battlefield series started a few years ago with "Battlefield 1942" and so on went on to make several other titles.Battlefield 1943 is a multiplayer spin off of 1942.It is for Xbla(Xbox live arcade) and Psn. So the game is meant solely for the purpose of multiplayer.As of right now there is some major server issues due to the fact that they didn't make enough dedicated servers for the game and they are working on it as we speak(reading this article.The game supports up to 24 or 12v12 matches on 3 giant maps.The objective is the same old "capture and control"as seen in previous battlefield games.There are 2 sides the Americans(USMC) or the Japanese forces(IJN) Each side has 3 classes.Infantry(machine gun & Bazooka),Scout(Sniper & pistol, And Riflemen(Rifle & Grenade attachment).The weapons differ between the 2 factions.OK so lets get the graphics. This game is undoubtedly the best looking game on XBLA. Powered by the Frostbite "1.5" engine the game just simply looks beautiful.Great lighting and shadow effects enhance the experience to the fullest & The weapons are greatly detailed as well as the vehicles. The Frostbite engine also powers the destructible environments(as seen in Battlefield Bad Company).Blowing up buildings,trees, and just about everything is tons of fun.Now, the Audio presentation is also very well done too. The guns sound and feel very powerful & realistic. During the heat of battle you'll here the roar of an airplane's engine flying overhead, sirens warning of an airborne attack. Tanks firing their main guns.Grenades exploding.Buildings being toppled/demolished. It just amazing.This game is well worth the 1200 Microsoft points($15) inspite of lacking a campaign mode.I recommend it to Battlefield fans, and fps fans. 9.5/10
