Like the "Hindenburg" it has so much potential but just crashes and burns...

When I heard EA and DICE were teaming up for another Battlefield game themed on WW2 I was over the moon. Vietnam just didn't feel right, nor did the Modern Era. My joy was soon slashed when they announced it was going to be an "arcade" game and not a "retail" game, however I still had hopes it was going to be good. Boy was I wrong!

First graphically it is quite stunning for an arcade game and almost passes for a retail game on store shelves quality. Some textures look bland and lifeless, but that can't be helped due to the file size being kept down.

Second the sound is top notch and actually sounds like a warzone accurately from distant sniper shots to "in your face" explosions.

For these two things I give 1 point each.

Now for the top scorer, gameplay:

My first impression in the game was dissapointing!
The HUD feels clustered and nothing is really clear. I spent most of my time ignoring the Mini-Map (which is strange for me in a Battlefield game) and not knowing where I was going.

The vehicles are quite fun to play in, which got another half point, however planes are still a bugger to play in and seem overly fast and zoom off the land making bombing runs impossible.

I also felt that the PvP combat was one sided and the victor was usually the one who "shot first".

Finally for me just some miscellaneous items like:
The Japanese using German sniper rifles,
The Japanese using a semi-automatic rifle (not the Ariska).

Pros: Great Graphics and Sound for an arcade game.
Fast quick paced action.
Fun vehicle combat

Cons: HUD is too "cramped".
Only 3 different classes.
Strange weapon choices.
Same skins depending on class.
Air Combat is hard to engage in.

My recommendation: Do not bother buying these game.
Go and download "Battlefield: Heroes" game for free and have lots of fun with that!
