playing battlefield 1943 felt like it took some getting used to at first but once i got my first match out of the way it soon began to feel like the battlefield i know and love. the complete destruction of everything but a few thick bricked bunkers makes for a very unique battle everyt ime you play meang that there are a lot less places to atomatically go to to be safe. with planes thrown in the mix the action feels like it has been taken to a whole new level if the pilot is good enough when you are shot and your position is seen for a short time being bommed by a plane is a actual threat that happens more often than you would imagine. each differant class (rifleman ,infantry, scout) has a complete differant feel to them and depening on who you pick weather you want to be up close with the soldjier or hid in a bush with a rifleman or even far away from the battle pirtched on a hill with your trusty sniper rifle each of these dramatically changes the wya you play on each of the 3 maps available (iwo jima, wake island, guadacanal) really the only thing that detracts frim the action is the amount of time spent waiting to get in the action but that is getting better everyday and according to the twitter page gordan and crew are working on the playing with friends issue . the biggest problem is i found( other than not being able to start the match because there is a server shortage) was that the room had to be full before the match started as you can imagine watching people leave when there is only 1 slot left is just unessacery !and i can imagine that would actually put people of playing the game this way which is a big shame reallly because being able to fill a room is hard enough as it is with out being able to start for litterally 1 character . the fact there there are only 3 maps is not a issue and should not be thought about the diversity of the terrain changes depening on who dropped what bomb where and it is truly shocking to spawn at a base in the same spot but with none of the buildings that used to give you cover in sight ! all in all battlefield 1943 is the most action packed first person shooter i feel i have ever played on a console and is a must purchase for anybody who cut there gameing teeth in the first person shooter world ! the only reason i have not give it a 10 is because the server issue is quite a big problem and really detracts from the fun bit that will be sorted soon enough and we can all don our helmets and rifles whenever we please !
