Best Online Experience On The PS2

User Rating: 8.4 | Battlefield 2: Modern Combat PS2
Battlefield 2 Modern Combat one of the greatest console online multiplayer games to date. The multiplayer is a great experience, but the single player lacks variety and gets old fast. The single player allows you to switch between any soldier on the battlefield and travel around the map. You will need to do this alot since the AI for your allies aren't that good. You can drive a variety of vehicles and use weapons for different classes. You play in a war between China and the United States and play on both sides. The game's single player isn't enough to buy this game for and you might play the single player a few times or not at all and play the online multiplayer. This is where the action and fun is and offers alot of variety. You can play as a sniper, engineer, support, covert-ops, and assault. Each has different weapons to use and each can do different things. For example, a support player can call a mortor strike that will have a blast of bombs drop on a target you lock onto with the crosshairs. A sniper can use gps that will show the enemies on the map for a short period of time. You can drive vehicles like hummers with mounted machine guns, tanks, boats, buggies, and helicopters. The control for these are all pretty good, except the helicopter is pretty tough to handle. The online is good, but like any good game there is a flaw, some of the people online really enjoy team killing and stat padding. People will destroy all of your team's vehicles and repair them to get a medal and get better stats, which is cheap and leaves you and your allies with no transportation. Besides that the game is pretty good and each online level ranges from a city, a middle eastern setting, and a snow covered area. These are all fun to play and each map offers a different style of playing. I reccommend this game only for those who have the online adaptor and who will enjoy a great online experience.
