One of my favorite PS2 games.. Awesome online play, terrible single player

Battlefield 2 single player is horrible. You go around basically just killing the enemies (which die in about 1 shot anywhere) and completing mindless tasks that take little to no skill to complete. The hot-swap feature (which allows you to switch between any soldiers on the field) is pretty useful and you'll find yourself using it alot. But, if you don't have online, I don't suggest this game at all. The online portion of the game is rock-solid with some pretty cool maps and almost no lag at all. The guns are a little like counterstrike, with almost no recoil, but the longer you shoot the less accurte the gun becomes. The vehicles are extremely fun to fly around in. You can drive in with a carful of teammates and completely own the other team, or plant C4 on the car and send in a moving bomb. Whatever you plan to do, the online of Battlefield is sweet and is worth every penny of this game even though the single player doesn't come up to par.
