This game got me totaly hooted, a good surprise...
First of all lets get the bad out of the way and by that I'm talking about the single player mode = VERY BAD. Of course it's not surprising since the battlefield series has been a PC online game only, up until now that is. There's all kinds of weird things happening, one of them is enemy popping out of thin air right beside you or being dropped our of the sky all over the place, anyways let's just say I haven't spent much time playing the single player mode.
But for those of us who love online gaming, descent realistic military land, sea and air strategy, I give you Battlefield2 modern combat. That's right, move over socom3 because you're just a same old same old compared to this game. For those of you who are tired of running and jumping around in circles on socom (as if that's even remotely close to reality in combat) then come and join a real online game.
I rented this game the first day it came out and the online was very stable and bug free (ps2 version), compared to most online game releases. Not to forget about the 24 players online including all the turret guns and vehicles! All the controls for the vehicles feel right, whether ground, sea or air, you even feel the tanks as the go by you. There are 5 kinds of ground troops and overall I must say that the game balances everything very well.
The maps are the biggest I've seen for ps2 online play and varied for all types of play.
For those of you who wish to explore the deeper aspects of the game I suggest you find yourself a clan of a group of buddies to play with because with even the minimum amount of teamwork you can destroy a non-organized group of gung-ho no-thinking running and shooting losers.
This game is made for intelligent strategy, so if you’re the type that needs to master everything inside of 30minutes, buy something more arcade like.
This game is absolutely awesome online and gets better and better the more you play, I hope this is only the start of these types of games on the ps2 or ps3!
