Hey, Battlefield 2 is about multiplayer, which this game does well, and the single player is great too
In terms of gameplay , the multiplayer is probobally the closest thing to the original battlefield 2 that you will find on the consoles. It supports 24 players who play against each other trying to take over certain locations on HUGE maps. These locations, once captured, will spawn vehicles and players. Every time you die, you choose a spawn point, launching you back into action almost instantly. You will want to get back in, maybe to pull out that rocket launcher and let that helicopter that took out you and two of your teamates down. The players in spit into a few classes: Assault (basic all around fighter),Sniper (has a cool gadget that locks onto vehicles and blows them up),Spec Ops (has an SMG and C4 which can be used to make car bombs), Engineer (Rocket man), and Support (medic with powerful gun and mortar strike abitlity). The single player has a hot feature that lets you switch between every player on the field as long as you can see them. This is BEAUTIFULLY executed, an animation that feels like a vaccum is sucking you behind each player. The single player is slightly ruined by a stupid A.I. Another problem in both modes is that the guns shoot very arcade-like. The guns are unrealistic and accuracy seems to have no effect.
The graphics are really nothing special but that is kinda looked passed because of the fun gameplay. However, some of the vehicle models look nice.
In terms of sound, this game doesnt have anything special. The chatter on the microphone is kind of cool (hearing people with middle eastern accents freaking out about artillery strikes is really funny). In the single player, they have a lot of voice acting but its not very good brittish acccents sounding fake and forced. One cool feature is the way you go deaf when large explosions happen near you. This is especially cool during air strikes. When the other team orders an airstrike on a building you are in, you feel the building getting pummeled. The sound goes bluury and the controller rumbles.
You will probobally play this game a lot if you have Live. Basically, here is the verdict for the game: if you have live this is probobally the best experience you will have on Live next to Halo. if you dont have life, its not werth it at all.
