Ehm...battlefield?

User Rating: 8.4 | Battlefield 2: Modern Combat PS2
I've played the pc battlefield versions for a couple of times and I was very satisfied with it. The action etc. etc. Everything was solid. It's easy to understand that when I bought this game, I was suspecting some of the same experience...but it is totally different. This is a, arcade-like, fast and chaotic shooter, and not the bit strategic, realistic-like shooter that you know form the pc. So forget the pc version. But what does Battlefield actually offer the player? Well, a pretty good game, I must admit. Hot-swapping is a great invention. It makes the action faster and intenser. And that is were this game relies on. On the intensity of it. The weapons are good, but not very very cool or something like that. The vehicles are handy, but also not very cool. It is the mix of the sound, explosives, shooting and enviroment that makes this game worth playing. The graphichs are good, but a bit vague. The online mode I've never played, and that seems to be the best of the game. The offline mode is fairly short.

So: A game that is a little dissapointing, but when you forget the pc versions, you have a fast, solid, intense shooter. A shooter really worth playing. Maybe is renting the game sufficent, but that decision lies with you.
