Modern Combat is the first battlefield game to be in the console. But it different than Battlefield 2.
Bad: The single player feels like an arcade shooting gallery, and some vehicles might be hard to control.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat for the PS2 is like a console version of Battlefield 2. With a title like that kinda feel alittle of a namesake on the "2". Like the same as Battlefield 2, the gameplay takes place at the modern era. Whats different between them is the hot-swap, and the story in single player mode. When you play Modern Combat, you're going have two ranks. One for single player, and one on online multiplayer.
The story of modern combat is about a war between the Americans and Chinese. From each mission, you switch to US side, then to the China side throughout 20mission-champaign. While on single player, you can do hot-swap. Where you can switch to another teammate with a same or different kit to take on a large treat. But the mission only have two or three different kinds of kits. Its not hard to complete. It just like that you have to defend an area, destroy those vehicles, or enemy cargo ship. After that mission is complete, it give you a number of gold stars. The number star makes you rank go up.
Modern combat includes online multiplayer up to 24 players. The ranking system is very different in the multiplayer. Instead of getting a number of stars, you have to get medals in the severs. However there only conquest and CTF (capture the flag). Each multiplayer map have a different army you can choose like the US, Middle East, China, and the Europeans. You'll aways get radio chatter of who taken your team flag or the enemy flag and some other stuff. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat is great game that you can think about playing.
