Doesn't forge new ground, singleplayer feels deja vu.
Singleplayer: The singleplayer campaign smacks of Black Ops. The story in flashback mode with an interrogation seems unoriginal. Further, all the fight sequences seem linear and predictable. Enemies appear, are shot, and that's it. While BF: BC2 felt exciting and fast, Battlefield 3 feels anemic and restrained. On the redeeming side, the visuals and sounds are top notch.
Multiplayer: There is no question that the multiplayer is fantastic, but it doesn't seem much of a change from BF:BC2 or the other battlefields. Maybe this is the point. However, I just feel that with all the hype, videos, and discussion about the revolutionary nature of the game, it seems kind of old-hat to me.
