An overall disappointment
No point in talking about the campaign or co-op. I will say, however, definitely do not buy the game if you aren't interested in multiplayer. Both of these modes are unremarkable and have been consistently reviewed as such.
Regarding multiplayer, Here are a few things I like:
1. Overall feel of the weapons
2. Graphics are good (not great though)
3. Audio is excellent
4. Can be amazing when everything works
And what I do not like:
1. Servers are complete trash. Complete utter trash.
2. Matchmaking menu is clunky, dated & not user-friendly. It feels like we went back in time 10 years using this system.
3. The graphics aren't that great. Not nearly as good as what the hype suggested they would be.
4. Matchmaking with friends is just broken. Good luck trying to get into the same match on the same squad.
5. Why, exactly, can't I back out of the game when a match is over?
6. Quite a bit of lag at times. Very frustrating.
5. Glitches & bugs. I've spawned several times without a weapon. I've been stuck in and among debris without being able to get back out. Audio, while not as bad a the beta, can sometimes fail. It feels very odd not to hear your gun fire, or to hear it fire out of sync. This is just the type of the ice burg.
6. Hit detection is spotty and damage is questionable. If I hit you in the chest with 3 50 cal. sniper rounds believe me, that's it for you. Apparently not in this game though.
7. Flashlights outside are extremely annoying. And unrealistic.
8. Camp city. More than any other game you'll likely ever play.
I'm going to give this game a chance, and I've been trying to like it, but it hasn't been easy. I was hoping the release would be leaps and bounds improved from the beta but it's really not. This needed another 6 months of polish to live up to the expectations that Dice and EA set for us.
