The most fun I've had playing a shooter in a long time!
Pros
-- Better than Bad Company 2. I played quite a bit of Bad Company 2 and liked it enough to keep on playing but i never was fond of the gunplay in that game. The feel of the weapons was just off. Fortunately this is fixed in Battlefield 3.
-- The infantry play is the best its ever been, not only in the BF series but in the series of first person shooters. Very realistic feeling which is what I was expecting from BF3. Perfect amount of recoil, bullet spread, and almost the right amount of damage to kill someone.
-- The graphics in this game look great, obviously not as great as was showcased on the PC version, but what were you expecting on, basically, a 7 year old computer? -- An extreme (In a good way) amount of class/weapon/vehicle customization.
-- The unlocks for all these customizations will keep you busy and going back for more for quite a while.
-- I love that they brought back the Battlefield Theme Song. I'm a sucker for great/memorable theme songs :)!
Cons
-- The Single Player is not as bad as everyone says it is, but it could've use a bit more work. It's enjoyable enough to go through once and I suggest you do, it contains some amazing visuals and a few cool moments.
-- As stated in the pros they almost got the damage needed to kill someone right... almost. Every now and then it feels like it takes a bit too much to get someone down, but then again every now and then i **** about it taking someone too little to kill me... I guess that's just life 0.o
-- 12 on 12 for the consoles is very fun and the map design makes it so, but there is still nothing quite like 64 players going at it on a huge map, maybe next gen consoles can deliver this to us with ease. Here's to wishful thinking!
In short, if you're a fan of FPS's (Even CoD fans, which I happen to be a fan of also and i don't understand why you can't enjoy both, but that's discussion for another time.) Anyway you should definitely give this one a try. It does take some getting used to. I sucked it up for the first few hours of playing but you get the hang of it. So play it, love it, and cherish it for the next 5 years til BF4 comes out.
