Battlefield 3 Review

User Rating: 10 | Battlefield 3 (Limited Edition) X360
In todays gaming industry, developers these days range from very good to poor. DICE's creation of battlefield which was first launched in 2002 for windows has entered one of the best top spots in terms of shooters. From then the epic series, has had many ups and downs with most of them having scores from around 8 -10(if you don't count Battlefield 2: Modern Combat).

So, this new addition to the series has been specifically designed to take down Call of Duty. But the question is does it succeed and the answer is yes.

It succeeds as the graphics are brilliant even for a console version. Like for example, the lighting and textures prove to be effective and the frame rate holds up very well. Another key feature of the game is animations which are well done. It is noticeable when your teammates run, take cover and so on. They use an animation technology called ANT. However for xbox 360 owners, you need to install a HD texture pack which is a bit inconvenient but I guess it's for the better.

Now, in terms of sound Battlefield 3 can be a bit deafening as the sound effects used in the game have a lot of detail.

In terms of its' story and gameplay, it does well as the story features some memorable events and characters. Besides that is the co-op mode, which is only for two people but that is fine by me as it adds to the challenge. The gameplay on the other hand, is pretty well done. The QTEs are solid the shooting mechanics are pretty good and AI provides a very big challenge.

In multiplayer, the game isn't like any random shooter on the market as it is very fun and will keep you sucked in to it for hours maybe even days or weeks.

So overall I give it a full 10 out of 10.
