Major disappointment for those who loved BF:BC1's humor and campaign

User Rating: 5.5 | Battlefield: Bad Company 2 X360
Campaign: Prepare for disappointment, fans...

Right off the bat, it's entirely clear that the developers ditched everything that was unique and good about BF:BC in favor of the high-selling aspects of a Call of Duty game.

-All the jokes and lightheartedness are gone.
-The first level takes place during WWII. (?!?)
-Within the first two levels, you'll be forced into just as many rail-shooter sections. I seriously don't understand why mandatory rail shooters have been shoved down players' throats so consistently during the last few years -- they seriously DETRACT from the main game engine, and this is no exception here.
-The game hard-locked my 360 when I briefly paused an hour into the game... Not a good sign for future stability, considering that it already patched itself upon first load.

Yes, the engine, destruction, and overall combat are as close to perfect as has been realized in any combat game to date, but with the entire original point of "B Company" having been emasculated, I don't see the point in finishing this campaign.

Multiplayer: Prepare to rejoice, fans: Well, heck... The pro reviewers have done a good job covering this already. But frankly, MP isn't my main motivation for buying any game -- the campaign is. (...which was also the point of BF:BC to begin with.)

This one's hitting the used shelf within two weeks.
