Battlefield: Bad Company 2 does what it set out to do, beat Modern Warfare 2 while being an amazing game itself.
Singleplayer
The singleplayer is great, but not as amazing as MW2's unforunately. I look at it and think how it could have been the best thing since sliced bread, but even still, DICE delivered a great campaign nonetheless. The story is one of those 'prevent WW3' stories, but is still good and has a cleaver twist. Also, the opening mission is pretty awesome too. Its not as funny as the first one, it takes a more serious tone. I'm not sure whether I like this tone or the more light-hearted funny tone, even though no other FPS has the funny one. Even still, the broken buildings and blown-up cover return, and are better than ever. Not only do the building get holes blown in their side, now, with Destruction 2.0 you level the entire thing. Its pretty awesome, and it sucks to be in the middle of it.
Multiplayer
The multiplayer is, need I say it? The best part. The multiplayer is flat-out amazing. The vehicle combat, the gun balancing, the shooting, the speciallizations, everything is amazing. The ranking system is another impressive thing. You are unlocking something almost constantly. Each of the cIasses are assigned a weapon, Assault rifles for the Assault cIass, submachines for Engineer, HMGs for Medics, and snipers for Recon. Each cIass also has their own role on the battlefield. Assaults supply ammo to other players, as well as being the anti-infiltry cIass. Engineers repair friendly vehicles, as well as destroy the other team's. Medics heal and revive the team, and Recons call in morters and uselessly snipe people off. As you can see, BC2 is a team-based game. I also love how there are 7 different guns for each cIass, and you can choose inbetween any of them throughout the game.
This multiplayer single-handedly destroys MW2.
Graphics
The graphics arn't the best, but they at least have an excuse for being only desent. Well, the character graphics anyway. Characters like Haggerd and Marlowe look great, but the bad guy, Army General, and pretty much every one else looks just OK. However, the maps are huge and pretty detailed, so you could say they look amazing. And, you can destroy pretty much all of it. But they could look better.
Sound
The sound it the best. the gun sounds and explosions really bring to life the experiance. Seriously, they sound like your actually shooting a gun.
The voice acting is good, it gets its job done.
And the soundtrack is pretty non-existant, so theres not much to say about it.
Overall Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an amazing game with only a flew minor flaws that hold it back from perfect. The character graphics, lacking campaign, and another is something than almost all other FPSs have. You feel like a flouting orb. No shadow, and you cant see your feet are just annoying and take away from the immersion. Other than those things, it's really close to perfect.
The Good-
-Amazing multiplayer
-Lots of unlockables
-Great balance of classes
The Bad
-Some of characters dont look very good graphics wise
-Might get boring after you unlock all the stuff
Singleplayer: 8.0
The campaign is great, with lots of cool moments..
Multiplayer: 9.5
This game is home to the best team-based multiplayer out there.
Co-op: N/A
Theres co-op coming out.
Story: 8.0
Pretty good for a shooter, and I love all of the MW2 bashing.
Graphics: 8.25
The enviorments look great, but some of the characters in the campaign, do not.
Sound: 10.0
I kid you not, the best sound of any game to date
Immersion: 7.0
Having no shadow and being an orb hurt alot, but the fluid gameplay and the camera shakes put you right in the action.
Replay Value: 8.7
You could play this until BC3, but some may get bored after they've unlocked everything
Overall: 9.1
My second favorite shooter, and one of the best available
