Shimmers of hope, but feels quite stale. Maybe I'm just bored too easily.
Maybe I have just grown to accustomed to the feel of a Call of Duty game. Maybe I just don't understand the genius behind the coding. There's just something... off about this game. This game forces you to look wherever you are going based on the fact that there is almost no feedback in the left thumbstick. Forward is where you will go and that's about it. Another gripe I have about this game is the intense kickback when walking. You cannot inch your way to a good sniper spot because you will be pushed back, hell will break loose, and you will be dead with a broken controller. Did anyone test this game and say: "Hmmm, that might get annoying, but it's more realistic and not in any other game, so keep it in!" What the **** guys... Maybe it makes it more realistic. Ok, I'll give them that. But you can't even climb over ****ing walls! What the hell...
Maybe I'm just a mean person nowadays. Maybe it's the extremely lackluster campaign that will have you restarting from a checkpoint after one damn shot from an enemy. Maybe this game just isn't what I thought it would be. Maybe it's the horrendous lag online in almost every game. Maybe this game isn't Call of Duty.
And it shouldn't be. They did some stuff right. The class customization is quite nice and easy to use, but there are bugs with that too. There are a few good moments in the campaign, but none that aren't done better in many other games. The game types are fun; kind of out of the ordinary, as squad based deathmatch is quite exhilarating (at times). But the shining light of this game is sniping. It's fun, takes patience, and seems quite realistic with gravity and the reloading and what have you.
Keep your money and buy Medal of Honor or Black Ops when they come out later this year. Don't bow down to EA and pay them for this **** Pay them for a good game, not just because it's a game that's not Call of Duty. (I happen to like EA by the way)
