Just another shooter eh? I don't think so.
BFBC 2 offers most of what you have seen already in other modern military themed games and more, the option of being able to get in a helicopter/tank and lay waste around the battlefield is refreshing, an being able to destroy the building where opposing players take refuge gives you that feeling that the weaponry you are using are indeed powerful.
the arsenal and the gadgets available give you something to think about and also the opportunity to tweak you gamestyle, do you favor speed and lethality over being slow and armored? one shot with a big punch or rapid fire? been playing this game since day one and I never tired of experimenting even if a particular class isnt my cup of tea, I'm not crazy about snipers or medic, and still always feel the need to sit down and carefully pick the most appropriated gadgets and weapons the situation may call for.
but Im not fan boy, Im not going to deny the game as some bugs, but nothing particularly gameplay crippling, I have seen worse...I know not an excuse but still.
the combat knife, it seems like you and your target need to stand still for the stab to be effective, I got the PS3 version and i some occasion it freezes on me, there is a really bad bug that happens when you get res by a medic right at the same moment you hit "X" to go back to the game...so the game try to do both...and you get stuck in the game but with the menu on the screen till somebody kills you again or the match ends, also when you try to get in a match the game seems ok to put you in a map with almost nobody on it or worst a match that its about to finish. well those are the one I have spotted so far, there are other issues but they are what usually goes with online shooters.
I do appreciate that Dice decided to make so open environments for their battlefield, but at times I wished the battlefields was on an oil rig in the middle of the ocean or maybe the downtown of some metropolis, and why not a freaking air carrier or an oil tanker.
I also wished the maps could support more players, the more the merrier I would say.
BFBC2 is indeed an awesome game that will give you a hell of a time, even if you are not all that crazy about shooters, I recommend this game to anybody while waiting for Battlefield 3, another tittle those Dice guys are cooking, I have no doubt that again the wait will be well worth it.
