Still the best shooter of all time. A classic.
Basically all it needed was new maps, and bang. They gave us new maps. For free.
The vietnam expansion is ok. But the original is still where its at. I just keep coming back to hardmode multiplayer again and again, month after month. Its just that good.
Destroyable environments, impact craters - never seen before, and should never be without again. I look forward to battlefield 3.
Hit detection is excellent to perfect. Sniping works extremely well on the just right maps and coexists with the other classes. There are a lot of justified complaints about the number of snipers. But there are still those that charge in with shotguns. I personally dont have the patience for Arma, and this game suits me just fine.
The vehicle additions are just excellent, and add a wonderful flavor to the game. Every once in a while a really good chopper pilot can dominate for a while, but in general the balancing is extremely good.
The addition of squads increases the tactical and strategic nature of the game. Also the "new" mode called rush, where sequences of new maps open as objectives are completed is frankly a work of genius. Such a great game.
