Put some color into World War II with Heroes.

Before I say anything, I just want to say this: This isn't supposed to be based off of the Battlefield series! All it shares is the name and the publisher, and a minimal relation to Battlefield 1942. Anyways, getting on with the review. When you see this, the first thing that comes to mind would probably be Team Fortress 2. Even though the colorful graphics and vivid appearance make the game seem like a complete copy to Team Fortress 2, it really isn't in terms of gameplay. Also, for a browser game (it has a brief installation, of course), the graphics are excellently designed. Your character is created in a 2D form on the website. You can choose from various skin colors, hair colors, facial hair, hair types, etc. There are two factions in the game: The Royals and the Nationals, which are actually spin offs of the British and the Germans in Battlefield 1942. There are also three classes. These are: Gunner, a tank, Commando, an assasin, and Soldier, a balanced class. Commandos use their sneak ability and trusty knife to take out their foes. Gunners have the highest amount of hitpoints and can also dish out some serious blow on the enemy. Soldiers are a mix, using weapons such as the AK-47 to destroy the attackers. Whatever you choose, each class has some abilities that can be earned by action points which are gained by leveling up. My personal favorite was the eat grenades ability for the gunner, which allowed any explosives dropped by the enemy to turn into medical kits that will heal you within how long the skill is active. Now to the actual gameplay. The game is very smooth, and most of the maps are huge. The seaside skirmish, for one, took me about ten minutes to fly from one end to the other on an airplane, which is about 400x as fast as walking on the ground. For a match-based shooter game, thats pretty massive. Also, there are three vehicles that can be driven no matter your level. They are jeep, which is basically just used to get from point A to point B faster, tank, which is obviously used to tank out enemy troops, and, the most fun, airplane, which can not only be used for transportation, but also for dropping soldiers into enemy spawns to capture areas. But it doesn't end there, either. Ever dream of jumping off a plane mid-air right before it crashes into a huge group of enemies while you get to safe cover? You can do that. You can also just kamikaze the place, but it isnt as fun ;) . The games weapons are also pretty balanced, although some abilities and equipment might totally destroy anothers. The game does have microtransactions, however they are pretty much all limited to clothing items, tattoos, cigars etc. so the game will remain balanced. The game gradually gets better as you play, whether it just be your head or the actual game getting better. I don't know what that is, but it's just what happened with me :D. Just try it out, it is free ;).
