The best of any action packed side and verticle control, beat em' up ever made; just a great time.
Battle Toads & Double Dragon doesn't really adapt to any older DD or BT game look, it really just stands on its own, supporting a more midget character, cartoonish action look. This was a really good move for this title; it just adds more laughs onto every hilarious episode that you might encounter during battles. Also, the sound effects do a fair job of adding to the cartoonish look, however, ultimately will be repeated many times, but will not end up hurting the overall presentation of the game in the long run.
The levels aren't your typical run of the mill either; you won't see any walk down the street and beat the crap out of everything action here. BTDD differs from that formula by placing you in weird situations, like having you swing from wall to wall, while defending off a barrage of crows that fly up as you reach the bottom of the huge vertical shaft (no puns intended there), or even events like riding hover motorcycles through an enemy and object infested base (though riding motor cycles in these games isn't new, it's still a change up in pace). These levels are a little on the hard side though and may need the help of one of your friends to help you beat it too.
Battle Toads & Double Dragon comes clean with the most hilarious situations you'll experience during this type of game's battles. And a must own for anyone with a multiplayer buddy on hand.
