Bayonetta is a fast paced, kick butt action adventure that sucks you into the story and leaves you dying for more

User Rating: 9.5 | Bayonetta (United Kingdom) X360
Being handled by devil may cry series directorial game veteran hideki kitaya (name might be wrong sorry) it is no suprise that the gameplay is just like dmc with its fast paced, kick butt action but with a game series as awsome as dmc (based on popular opinion) it is easy, as a developer, to want to copy it frame by frame. However what platinum games has done here is take what keeps dmc around, add in a great story involving demons, angels, heaven and hell, then throw in a good looking, but still kick butt woman, and you have bayonetta. There aren't too many games that can keep fast paced combat from being to buttonmash esque and unfortunatly bayonetta is prone to button mashing at times; however once one sees all of the differant types of karate/ magic combos, coupled with an easy to use machine gun on the side, you will be delighted at how even buttonmashing, every gamers most dreaded combat variable, can be enjoyable if done right. One minor thing that might turn some off is the camera, which is the only thing gamespot lists as bad. I gave the game a 9.5, taking off half a point for camera, because it is very irritating for the camera to move on you during a crucial point in a boss battle, among other times such as when running.
