Nice action game if you can tolerate the cheesiness.

Forgive me if I sound rude, but I guess you have to be Japanese or understand their sensitivities to get Bayonetta. The game is such a cheese-fest it's almost unplayable for a person who doesn't have the patience nor the sense of humor. Even before you play it, you know the game is campy. From Bayonetta's campy outfit, to the campy screenshots. It doesn't stop there, the music is so cheesy, your ears will bleed. It has been days since I played the game and I still can't get that j-pop version of "Fly Me to the Moon" out of my head.
When you put those things aside, what do you get? A She-Devil-May-Cry for the next-gen consoles.If you like action games in the Devil May Cry fashion, this game won't disappoint. The action is fast-paced and well balanced. I have to admit that Bayonetta can kick some ass. The fighting system is deep, even though some players are going to find the button-mashing to get rid of hordes and hordes of enemies too boring at times.
The story has that anime feeling. The cheesy kind of anime. Some reviewers were complaining about technicalities like loading times, that were addressed in an update, so I'm not going to go any further into that.
I'll have to recommend this game with a warning. If you're into the Otaku thing, you'll pass Bayonetta. For everyone else, rent it and see if you can stomach it. Good luck doing that.
