Fun, but loses a little drive
Basically, notes fall from top to bottom. Once it hits the red line you hit the corresponding keys to your DJ Controller, which consists of 7 buttons and a turntable to do scratches on.
Playing on easy is almost hard enough, but with enough practice you'll start getting the hang of it, pulling off combos and hand movements you didn't know you could do.
My ONLY drawback is that they "American-ised " the songlist. Tracks such as Toxic and Funkytown somehow made their way to the game. If you're like me, these are songs you usually avoid. Most the fans that play these games are in it for the dance, techno, trance, j-pop, and happy hardcore sounds that the series is really known for. Don't worry. There are plenty of those in here. I just wanted a lot more. There is probably only about 45-50 songs and they are only about 1 min and 30 sec. If you look around you'll find that Beatmania has over 10 games. Here in the states we have one. It just never took off, which is a shame. Perhaps with more publicity it would have been more popular like DDR did in the states, although lately it seems DDR has lost its popularity with the public. Arcaded used to packed with people playing these games and mall walkers would stare in amazement. Sorry. Going down memory lane. LOL
