In 2001, a game called Bejeweled released for web browsers. Since then, the game has seen various releases on a number of different platforms. I am here to review the iOS version of the game.
The iOS version has various modes, which include Normal mode, Lighting mode (or Time Attack), Butterflies, Diamond Mine, Zen and Blitz (which requires the Bejeweled Blitz app to play!). In Classic mode, you must go through the levels while gaining points, be careful though, you only have a limited amount of moves so use them wisely! In Lightning mode, you have a limited amount of time to score as much as you can. You get extra time by popping gems which have extra time on it. In Diamond Mine, you must mine out the diamonds by popping gems. In Zen mode, it is a training mode where you can practise your skills at Bejeweled. In Butterflies, you must match the coloured butterfly with the gem colour. The butterflies should avoid the spider or its game over for you!
What I love about this game is the addicting modes which keeps you coming back for more as well as the leaderboard functionality. The only criticisms I have is the fact that you have to get Bejeweled Blitz to play the Blitz mode and the questionable use of a level up system. Overall, this is a great game and I definitely recommend this game.
