One of the best Zelda clones I've played so far, probably the best one I've played ever.

Beyond Good and Evil was the game I have been looking for for a very looooong time. I finally found the game at a mall downstate and, of course, bought it. I have been searching for this game since it was first released (it didn’t sell well, but it got great reviews.) And now I have it and it is just amazing.

When you first start playing the beginning of the game, you fight a few enemies and then a boss. Near the end of fighting the enemies in the first parts of the game, it gives you a slow motion-like feel. That is one of the reasons why I like Beyond G & E.

You play as Jade, the hero in the game (and I think a photographer too?) as she and Peyj (a pig-like character that talks. Ooooooooooh!) are discovering some sort of conspiracy in their world of Hillis. The game has a Zelda-like experience such as solid combat, interesting puzzles, and a lot of exploration aspects that most Zelda-clones rarely have. The first level (the one where you have to take a picture of a certain species) gives you an idea of how to solve puzzles and certain tasks within the items and weapons you have. The boss battles in this game have one of the most strategic gameplay I’ve seen since beating the bosses in the Zelda franchise. Of course you need to protect your buddy while beating bosses and enemies. And later in the game you can upgrade your health, weapons, and other items in order to progress throughout the game.

The game is hard to describe since this game was made by the same person who did the Rayman franchise, and B G & E is a very hard to find game. Once you do get the game, feel free to enjoy it to the end. Let’s hope that Ubisoft makes a sequel to this amazing game.
