A great Action-Adventure game, that blends stealth, adventuring, action & puzzles in a fun way.
Firstly this is just a fun game to play, that's easy to get into. Not one bit is too hard or too easy, it just goes along how it should.
The game-play is excellent; all the aspects of the game just seem to go really well together. It's helped by the fact that even though the mechanics of the stealth and action parts are simple, they're enjoyable and they feel satisfying.
The puzzles in the game are a great part of it too, they aren't too easy but they're not annoyingly hard and confusing either. But all of these parts of the game can't compare to the adventuring, it's a lot of fun just going around exploring and looking for animals to photograph, finding pearls (the games currency for hover-car upgrades), talking to people to find out things and doing the side-quests.
The side-quests and mini-games are a good part of the game, because they're all enjoyable and you can win money and pearls from doing them.
The graphics of the game are pretty good for an Xbox game, and the way the characters look really adds to the feel of the game. Which brings us to the audio; the music and sound effects in this game are great. They all sound good and fit into the tone of the game. From the more subdued tone in the stealth sections to the lively feel of the racing music.
The story is one of the best parts of the game, it's interesting and immersive. But this wouldn't mean much if you didn't care about the characters. They develop in a way that makes you like them (and even feel sad for them once or twice).
Beyond Good & Evil is a great game but there are some problems with it. Some parts of the game can't be revisited once you have completed them the first time around, which means if you're trying to get photos of all the animals (which is a very fun part of the game) you might get a bit frustrated with it if you missed a few.
But all in all, Beyond Good & Evil is a great game that fans of Zelda and the Action-Adventure Genre would love. If you can find this game you should definitely pick it up, you won't be disappointed.
