For what it is, Bionic Commando is perfect. Bionic Commando is truly one of the most solid platformers I have ever played, ever. The controls are great, the graphics are great, the sound is almost great. This is definitely the best game I have on my GBC (last handheld I ever owned). The missions are difficult, but too bad. There are two playables characters who have different attributes. The action is really cool, especially when you consider the grappling hooks. I never played the original Bionic Commando, but if I did, I'm sure I would love it. This game is awesome.
