Why Aren't There More Games Like This?

User Rating: 9 | Bionic Commando: Rearmed X360
Bionic Commando Rearmed is one of those kind of games that you wish that were more around. It's a remake of the classic NES platformer with a huge graphical upgrade and a few tweaks here and there to balance everything out and make things feel more up to date. I've never grown up playing the NES version but I have played it before and it really does play like the original....and that's a good thing!
You play as an enhanced soldier with a bionic arm by the name of Nathan "Rad" Spencer. His objective is to rescue a captured soldier "Super Joe" who was investigating an enemy Nazz base (simular to the Nazis) who are developing a project codenamed "The Albatross". If you've played the NES version growing up then you'll know what to expect.
Like the NES version there is no jump button, instead there is a grappling hook that you can latch onto almost everything and allows you to swing across from platform to platform, it requires alot of skills but you'll eventually get better and better as you play it. Overtime you can even grab your opponents and throw them around!
The graphics are flat-out amazing. This is without a doubt the best looking side-scrolling game I've ever seen! it really makes me wonder why there are not alot of side-scrolling games that look like this.....it also makes me wonder where did all the side-scrolling games go?
For those who liked the music from the first BC you'll be happy to know that each song has been upgraded with a more techno beat. Whoever did the music obviously loved the NES version because every note is spot on and well taken cared of.
You'll also be happy to know that you and a buddy can hop in and play through the game cooperatively. Unfortunately there's no online coop so you better hope your buddy lives near by.
There's also a multiplayer mode that can be played with up to four players. Unfortunately it's offline only so I have not had a chance to try it out.
Bionic Commando Rearmed is ten dollars (or fifteen if you have a PC) and is well worth your money. The graphics are great, the music is great, and overall it's a ton of fun to play. Try it out!
