A great game that could of been more if it pushed slightly further away from the origional

Bioshock 2 takes place 10 years after the devastation of bioshock 1 and takes place in the immersive, beautiful and sadistic scenery of rapture. Although rapture is a brilliant idea for a video game, having the same setting twice seems to just take away that spark from bioshock 1 which made it outstanding.

Story- Honestly the story does seem weak at times. It doesnt grab you in as much as the origional, however that being said it does liven up especially near the end, and with all parts of the story together it makes sense but doesn't leave you captivated.

Characters- You learn more about yourself and the other characters as you go through the game. I've mainly added this part to say that although character building has been done in an average manner, for some reason you feel empathy and sorrow for your character- you want to see him succeed. And when the end of the game comes around you are left with a sense of accomplishment ( i've read that the ending leaves many with a tear in their eye, however this depends on the actions you take throughout the game).

FPS- This is where bioshock earns its credit- the array of weapons and plasmids alone make the gameplay fun and fresh. Sure, the plasmids are the same but who gets bored of electrocuting insane splicers. The weaponry has a range of ammo types for tactical players and setting up traps is an important part of the game. It also includes the impressive drill however the animations of the AI when using it are lackluster.

I know ive added a few criticisms to this review but trust me that with all parts of the game bought together, the game feels like an incredible journey and ofcourse with the addition of multiple endings replayabillity is high.
